Abstract

The invention provides a method and device for determining a directional positioning reference signal, relates to the technical field of communication, and is used for solving the problem of resourcewaste of the positioning reference signal due to the fact that a user does not know which direction the terminal needs to send the positioning reference signal in all directions when positioning the terminal due to the use of a wave beam in a 5G system. The method provided by the invention solves the problem and saves the reference signal sending overhead. The method comprises the following stepsthat a terminal receives a beam information request sent by a positioning management function, wherein the beam information request is used for requesting the terminal to provide measurement information of a downlink beam; the terminal acquires beam information, wherein the beam information comprises information of a reference signal sent by at least one first network device and measured by the terminal; and the terminal sends the acquired beam information to the positioning management function.
