According to characteristics of an asphalt or asphalt concrete pavement, by utilization of rainwater collectedby the pavement, collection of irrigation water for greening is carried out in combination with a drainage trench of the pavement; in combination with the mature film-mulching and water-saving methodin an arid area, non-irrigation planting is carried out by selecting local drought-endurable and salt-tolerant plants in the arid area; soil water evaporation can be effectively reduced; soil salinization inhibition and entropy conservation can be facilitated; and survival and growth of green plants in a non-irrigation condition can be ensured. A lot of experiments show that: in a non-irrigation condition, the comprehensive survival rate of green vegetation in the first year is above 79%; the comprehensive survival rate in the second year is 63%; after reinforcement planting, the survival ratein the second year is 82%; the comprehensive survival rate in the third year is above 72%; on the premise that the maintenance cost is not increased, non-irrigation greening of the highway is realized by one-time investment; the method has great promotion potential; by means of the method, a lot of irrigation water for greening is saved; and furthermore, a lot of human and material resources is saved in the greening vegetation maintenance process.
