The method comprises the steps of enabling user equipment (UE) to detect whether a first signal triggered by a user and used for displaying pick-up point information is received or not; when the first signal is received, acquiring current position information of the UE, determining at least one piece of preset pick-up point information of which the distance to the current position of the UE is less than a preset threshold, and displaying the at least one piece of preset pick-up point information; and generating departureplace information according to the pick-up point information selected by the user, and sending a taxi taking request including the departure place information to a taxi taking system. The invention further provides a device for determining the position. The device comprises a signal detection unit, a pick-up point display unit and a sending unit. According to the invention, the complexity of communication between a driver and passengers to a departure place can be effectively reduced, so that the pick-up efficiency is improved, and the driver and passenger experience is improved.
