Abstract

One or more embodiments of the invention provide an SLA-based cross-site data analysis cost minimization method and device. The method comprises the steps of determining first job completion time whena data processing job is executed according to a job completion time minimization strategy; if the first job completion time is less than or equal to a set deadline, determining second job completiontime when the data processing job is executed according to a job cost minimization strategy; and if the second job completion time is less than or equal to the deadline, selecting the job cost minimization strategy to execute the data processing job, and if the second job completion time is greater than the deadline, adjusting the data processing job placement of each site, so as to enable the data processing job to be executed with as low job cost as possible within the deadline. According to the method, the completion time and cost of the data processing job can be balanced, and the operation efficiency problem of cross-site data processing is solved.

Description

technical field [0001] One or more embodiments of this specification relate to the technical field of data processing, and in particular to a method and device for minimizing cross-site data analysis costs based on SLA. Background technique [0002] Currently, many data providers have deployed a large number of sites in different regions to support various distributed data applications. Collecting, analyzing, and processing data distributed across regions and sites is conducive to formulating a better deployment strategy, thereby saving resources; however, each site across regions has heterogeneity in resources such as capacity, bandwidth, and price, and each site executes at the same time Large amounts of data processing can result in severe geographically distributed resource consumption and high latency. How to achieve a balance between operation time and cost, improve operation efficiency, and maintain reasonable cost when performing data processing operations across si...
