Embodiment Construction

[0059] figure 1 The photochemical sensor is schematically depicted. In this exemplary embodiment, the sensor 1 is designed to determine the concentration of a gas dissolved in the measurement fluid, for example dissolved oxygen. The sensor 1 has a housing 2 which, in the exemplary embodiment shown here, has an approximately cylindrical design. The diameter is eg 12 mm or 40 mm. Housing 2 contains a sensor membrane 13 intended to come into contact with the measurement medium. The sensor membrane 13 comprises inter alia a luminescent dye embedded in a polymer matrix and whose luminescence is quenched by an analyte (eg here oxygen). Alternatively, the luminescent dye may also have the property that its luminescence is enhanced by the analyte. This is the case, for example, in the optical pH detection of luminophores based on the photoinduced electron transfer (PET) effect. The sensor film 3 may have a stable base and multiple layers applied to the base; see below. The membr...

Abstract

The invention relates to a optochemical sensor and a method. The present disclosure discloses an optochemical sensor for determining a measurand correlating with a concentration of an analyte in a measuring fluid, comprising: a housing having an immersion region configured for immersing in the measuring fluid; a removable cap having a sensor spot, the removable cap removably arranged at the immersion region of the housing, wherein the sensor spot is disposed on a circumferential face; a radiation source disposed in the housing for radiating excitation radiation into the removable cap, whereina deflection module is disposed in the removable cap as to deflect excitation radiation radiated into the removable cap; a radiation receiver disposed in the housing for receiving received radiation emitted by the sensor spot; and a sensor circuit disposed in the housing and configured to control the radiation source, receive signals of the radiation receiver, and generate output signals based onthe signals of the radiation receiver.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a photochemical sensor and a method for changing a measurand related to the concentration of an analyte in a measurement fluid using such a photochemical sensor. Background technique [0002] Although the invention is described below with reference to an oxygen sensor, the inventive concept is not intended to be limited to sensors operating according to the principle of luminescence quenching. Conversely, other process variables, in particular the concentration of certain analytes such as ions, molecules, gases or other chemical compounds, pH or temperature can also be measured by this arrangement with conventional modifications. The companies of the Endress+Hauser group supply and sell measuring devices suitable for determining the respective process variables in various variants. [0003] The sensor comprises, for example, a sensor head containing an optical sensor element and connected to a housing containing a data...
