Abstract

The invention provides a gesture recognition method, which comprises the steps of sequentially processing gesture RGB-D pictures collected one by one to obtain hand RGB-D pictures and corresponding depth information; caching the hand RGB-D pictures and the depth information one by one to form a first picture sequence; when the number of the first picture sequences meets a set first threshold value, extracting a group of second picture sequences from the first picture sequences according to the difference of the depth information of two adjacent hand RGB-D pictures; processing the second picture sequence to obtain a group of hand key point models; and recognizing the gesture type according to the distances of the corresponding key points in the group of hand key point models. The picture sequence is screened through the depth information of the hand RGB-D pictures, so that the data reliability of the subsequent recognition process is ensured; gestures are recognized through distance changes between the key points, the calculated amount is small, and the real-time performance is high.
