Abstract

The invention relates to a hearing system with at least one hearing instrument and a method for operating such a hearing system. During operation of the hearing system, a sound signal from the environment of the hearing instrument is received by means of an input transducer of the hearing instrument and is modified in a signal processing step. The modified sound signal is output by means of an output converter of the hearing instrument. In an analysis step, voice intervals of others in which the received sound signal contains the voice of speakers different from a user is recognized. The recognized voice intervals of others are associated with the recognized different speakers. For each identified voice interval of other people, in an interactive classification process, according to whether the speakers are in a direct communication relationship with the user as primary speakers or whether the speakers are in a direct communication relationship with the user as secondary speakers or not, the associated speakers are classified. In a signal processing step, the recognized voice intervals of others are modified according to interaction classification.
