The costume matching recommendation method and system are used for improving costume matching experience of a user. The method comprises the steps of receiving a costume matching request input by a target user; according to the costume matching request, determining a first costume picture from a user costume database, the first costume picture only comprising costume features of one piece of costume, and the user costume database comprising a picture corresponding to each piece of costume owned by the target user; screening at least one costume matching picture out from a costume matching library according to the costume features of the first costume picture, storing costume matching pictures with matched costumes in the costume matching library, the costume matching pictures being pictures containing the first costume and other costumes matched with the first costume; pushing at least one costume matching picture to the target user; receiving a target costume matching picture selected by the target user; and pushing the target costume picture to the target user from the user costume database according to the target costume matching picture.
