Embodiment Construction

[0114] Figure 1 to Figure 21 Relating to an integrated interlocking system for low-voltage, medium-voltage or high-voltage switchgear having several different interlocking system functionalities, and to one or more low-voltage , Medium or high voltage switchgear.

[0115] Examples of interlock systems for low, medium or high voltage switchgear are described below. Switchgear includes compartments, doors, door handles and circuit breakers. Thus, in this example the compartment is a circuit breaker compartment. A door allows access to the interior of the compartment. Door handles are used to open and close doors. The circuit breaker is located in the compartment. The door handle is configured to move from a closed position to an open position. The interlock system is configured such that:

[0116] the door is configured not to open when the door handle is in the closed position and the door is configured to open when the door handle is in the open position; and

Abstract

The invention relates to an interlock system for a low, medium or high voltage switchgear, the switchgear comprising: a compartment; a door a door handle; and a circuit breaker;wherein, the door permits access to the inside of the compartment;wherein the door handle is used to open and close the door;wherein the circuit breaker is located in the compartment;wherein the door handle is configured to move from a closed position to an open position; and wherein the interlock system is configured such that:when the door handle is in the closed position the door is configured not to open and when the door handle is in the open position the door is configured to open; and wherein a movement of the door handle from the closed position to the open position is configured to place the circuit breaker in a locked configuration, and wherein in the locked configuration the circuit breaker cannot be operated.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an interlocking system for a low, medium or high voltage switchgear and a low, medium or high voltage switchgear. Background technique [0002] The operation of low-voltage, medium-voltage and high-voltage switchgear must follow certain rules so that the safety of equipment and operators is guaranteed. This usually involves the use of interlocks. [0003] Interlocks can operate mechanically, electrically, or a combination of mechanical and electrical. Mechanical interlocks are usually preferred because they do not require power to function and their condition can be easily overviewed by the operator. [0004] However, it is possible for the interlock to be overridden by using excessive force applied by the operator or by the operator deliberately seeking to override the interlock. [0005] There is a need to provide a low, medium and high voltage switchgear with an improved interlocking system. Contents of the invention ...
