Abstract

The invention relates to a positioning, stabilizing and interface structure and a system including the same. A head-mounted display system includes a head-mounted display system, the head-mounted display system including: a head-mounted display unit including a display; and a nose pad assembly for supporting the head-mounted display unit on a nose peak of a user. The nose pad assembly includes a nose pad having a generally saddle-shaped inner user-contacting surface region having an apex region configured to engage a nose peak and an opposing distal region. The nose pad may be configured and arranged to deform under a reaction force applied to the apex region such that the distal region is inwardly biased to more closely conform to the nose, thereby improving load distribution on the nose.
