Abstract

The invention concerns a method for bending in pairs stacked glass panes heated to their softening temperature which consists in: placing the pair of glass panes (2) on a bending frame (4) for pre-bending under the action of gravity; transferring the pre-bent pair of glass panes (2) onto a suction bending mould (5) with a concave forming surface, a pressure of the lower surface of the glass pane located in lower position being produced at least on the peripheral edge of the forming surface; by applying a vacuum for a predetermined time interval, sucking the air out of the intermediate space between the lower surface of the glass pane located in lower position and the suction bending mould (5) and pressing the pair of glass panes (2) with atmospheric pressure on the concave forming surface of the suction bending mould (5); after applying the vacuum, transferring the pair of glass panes (2) completely moulded from the suction bending mould (5) onto a transport device (7) and cooling it.
