The example shown includes the only way to set the threshold.

Abstract

The invention relates to the out-loop power control in a communication system, and the out-loop power control of a business channel includes using at least one output coming from the other business channel to determine proper control threshold values, when selected channel situations such as the SNR exist. An example business channel situation includes that no enough data transmission provides the direct measurement of the packet error rate, and another example business channel situation which is used for determining when to use other channel outputs is a transmission mode on the channel. Anexample output is the ratio of the energy and the noise of a code chip of a pilot channel which is interrelated with the channel.
