Abstract

A thermal printhead is provided having a memory storing a resistance value of a heater to compensate for energy drift of the thermal printhead. The thermal printhead includes a plurality of heaters for applying heat to the media. The heater driving unit drives the heater according to the received data. The memory stores the resistance value of the heater. Therefore, the thermal head having the memory storing the resistance value of the heater compensates the energy drift of the thermal head by using the resistance value of the heater stored in the memory without separately measuring the resistance value and can realize uniform print quality.
