Benefits of technology

The present invention provides a patient garment that can be used for easy access to a patient's body while providing comfort and warmth. The upper garment has a front panel and a rear panel with an opening between them. The rear panel is divided into two segments by a central divider and fasteners are used to secure the front panel to the rear panel and the two segments together. The lower garment has legs and a cutout. The front panel may be longer than the rear panel. The garment may also have sleeves and elastic material to make it easier to close. The front panel may have a pocket and the sleeves may have additional fasteners to allow them to move between open and closed positions.

Problems solved by technology

However, these gowns typically are composed of a thin layer of material that fail to provide comfort, warmth, and modesty to a patient.
Typically, most patients are accustomed and most comfortable when wearing clothing that mimics traditional dress, including pants, which may reduce a patient's comfort and cause the patient to feel exposed.
Gowns are generally used as traditional pants are difficult to easily remove and replace on patients with limited motor control or otherwise unconscious.
