The invention relates to a clitoris stimulation apparatus with improved ergonomics and comprising: a pressure field generating device having a drive unit and a hollow space, the drive unit being capable of periodically generating a pressure field with alternating positive and negative pressures in the hollow space when the drive unit varies the volume of the hollow space, said hollow space having an opening which can be placed on the clitoris; a control device designed to control the drive unit; and a sensor device designed to detect when the stimulation apparatus comes close to the clitoris or, alternatively, when the stimulation apparatus comes into contact with the clitoris, and designed to output an activation signal to the control device upon detection of any approximation or contact.
