A plurality of seed pads are then formed by self-directed touchdown by exposing the interface layer to a material comprising a semiconductor material. This virtually eliminates the risk of leaks in the water heater due to bulkhead fittings. A package embodying the invention includes a base plate for receiving an electronic device having input/output points to be connected to an external system.
