Embodiment Construction

[0023] Utilizes multiplexing to provide faster or more complex 2D and 3D ultrasound imaging. A multiplexer is provided within the probe so information from multiple sensor elements is multiplexed onto one signal channel for transmission to the base unit or ultrasound system for further processing. In order to avoid installing different systems for different types of transducers, the receiving circuitry of the ultrasound system can work in different ways depending on the signal format provided by the transducers. To further reduce the number of channels connecting the probe to the ultrasound system without negatively impacting the size of the probe, the transmit channel is separated from the receive channel by a sensor element. This separation allows the transmit channel to be isolated while minimizing the integration of high voltage components within the probe. In order for the elements to isolate the transmit and receive channels, the sensor array is fabricated from separate...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for ultrasound isolation of transmit and receive events, the method comprising: (a) generating a first unipolar transmit waveform having a high state and a low state; (b) generating a second unipolar transmit waveform having the high state and the low state; (c) beginning the first unipolar transmit waveform in the low state; and (d) beginning the second unipolar transmit waveform in the high state.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the following invention patent application submitted on June 27, 2003, application number: 03148099.3, invention title: "Method for Isolating and Using Transmitting and Receiving in Ultrasonic Scanning". technical field [0002] The invention relates to a receiving circuit for ultrasonic imaging. In particular, it relates to receiving circuits using different sensors. Background technique [0003] Ultrasound imaging for echocardiography requires scanned transducers with high body rates per second. For real-time imaging of moving structures, 20 or more, such as 35, two-dimensional or three-dimensional representations are generated per second. A large amount of information is transmitted from the ultrasound probe to the basic unit of the ultrasound system. [0004] Various transducers and associated beam shapers are already available for 3D ultrasound imaging. Currently, most of them use mechanical sensors. However, it...
