The invention discloses an AGPS position tracking system and the method thereof. The system includes a terminal, a service platform and a server. The terminal communicates with the server via the service platform. Moreover, a link detecting module is arranged between the terminal and the service platform. The terminal includes a sending / receiving module for sending and receiving information; a positioning module for acquiring GPS auxiliary data required when positioning and an SUPL driving module for providing drive for the terminal to accomplish AGPS positioning. The service platform includes a position tracking service module for receiving the positioning requirement and information transmitted by the terminal and an SUPL service module for realizing AGPS positioning with the terminal. The server is used for analyzing the auxiliary data of the position transmitted by the terminal to position the terminal. Besides, a map module is arranged on the terminal or the server. By the system, navigation and tracking to the terminal based on user plane is actualized.
