Abstract
The household appliance e.g. ovens, comprises an UV-impermeable cover (2), which covers a part of a household appliance room, has a covering plate with colored glass and changes its color feature in depending upon operating condition of the appliance. The cover is translucent until opaque, is illumined by an illumination means in different colors, and has a first coloring feature in switch off operating condition and a second coloring feature in switch on operating condition and a light diffusion layer, which outwardly strews the light radiated by the illumination means. The household appliance e.g. ovens, comprises an UV-impermeable cover (2), which covers a part of a household appliance room, has a covering plate with colored glass and changes its color feature in depending upon operating condition of the appliance. The cover is translucent until opaque, is illumined by an illumination means in different colors, and has a first coloring feature in switch off operating condition and a second coloring feature in switch on operating condition and a light diffusion layer, which outwardly strews the light radiated by the illumination means through the covering plate. The illumination means radiates a blue light, which is directed by the covering plate. The cover is framed laterally in top view and downwardly by a mounted screen (3), and is sub-divided into partial covers (4, 5, 6) adjacent to each other, from which a partial cover is introduced at a door of the household appliance. The household appliance is a sterilizer, which has a lower door of a lower sterilizer chamber, an upper door of an upper sterilizer chamber adjacently fixed over the sterilizer and a control bar adjacently fixed over the upper door, which have the partial covers.

Background technique [0002] Several sterilizers have been disclosed. In these sterilizers, the sterilization chamber is partially covered at the front by a colored glass pane. The glass panel appears darker when closed. In the energized state, the glass pane appears brighter by the backlighting of the sterilization chamber visible from the outside. Through this change of brightness, the operator can easily see whether the sterilization chamber is running from a distance. In order for the glass pane to be shielded from the ultraviolet rays that occur during sterilization, the glass pane must be relatively thick.
