The invention relates to Fe3O4 with a nanometer layered structure and a preparation method and an application thereof. Ferric trichloride and ferrous chloride as well as dodecyl sodium sulfate are taken as raw materials, then a water-alcohol mixed solution of sodium hydroxide is added, the mixture is refluxed, separated and dried, wherein, the mol ratio of the ferric trichloride to the ferrous chloride is between 1.85 and 2.2 to 1, the mol ratio of iron chloride to the dodecyl sodium sulfate is between 3 and 30 to 1, the mol ratio of the sodium hydroxide to the iron chloride is between 1 and 1.5 to 4, and the volume ratio of water to alcohol is between 1 and 0.5 to 1. The layered Fe3O4 can be directly used for sewage treatment agents and magnetic seed materials of superconducting magneticseparation sewage treatment due to the characteristics of a performance structure of the layered Fe3O4.
