Abstract

The invention discloses a method for data segment transmission of a packet switching network. The method comprises the following steps: the sending terminal judges whether the dispatched packet can be completely sent in the current available time resource; if the dispatched packet can be completely sent in the current available time resource, the packet is sent; if not, the packet is segmented; and recombination is carried out at the receiving terminal on the basis of the received segments to recover the packet. The invention adopts an improvement that the condition of sending terminal judgment is changed into the condition that whether the dispatched packet can be completely sent in the current available time resource and meets the requirement on maximum package length of the transmission network. The invention also provides two network segmenting formats and methods through Ethernet frame transmission data, which are respectively a segmenting format based on UNI / NNI interface and a segmenting format based on terminal-to-terminal.
