Abstract

The invention provides a method for extracting keratin from feather, comprising the steps that after being crashed, clean feather is pretreated by ethanol and hydrochloric acid; by adopting mercaptoethanol reduction method, the pretreated feather is deacidized to obtain keratin solution of the feather, and then clean sand white keratin solid powder is obtained through acid coprecipitate, washing and drying. The extracted keratin is analyzed and represented by the methods such as ultraviolet-visible spectrum, infrared spectrum, SDS-gel electrophoresis, elementary analysis, etc. The results shows that the keratin extracted by the method mainly contains the elements such as C, H, N, O, S, the total content of which reaches over 99%, and the purity is higher; the molecular weight of the keratin mainly ranges from 5 to 20 kD and 40 to 80kD.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of polymer technology and relates to a method for extracting keratin, in particular to a method for extracting keratin from waste feathers. Background technique [0002] Keratin is a structural protein of ectodermal cells and is widely present in the tissue structure of organisms. Including skin and skin derivatives: hair, hair, scales, feathers, nails, hooves, horns, claws, beaks, silk, etc. As a natural polymer material, keratin is not only rich in sources and low in price, but also has some good special properties. It can be widely used and has good economic benefits and development prospects. For example, keratin hydrolyzate can be used as an additive to animal feed; its modified products can be used to fill leather, rubber, etc., to prepare leather and rubber products with excellent performance; adding powder with special functions to the keratin solution can produce Regenerated fiber with special functions.
