The technical proposal is as follows: the method for pushing the set-top box file comprises the steps: a set-top box terminal communicates with a server or other set-top box terminals actively to get a file name and a route of a file allowed to be downloaded; the file is downloaded to the set-top box terminal in a P2P way; and the set-top box terminal switches to FTP or HTTP to download actively under the condition that P2P download can not be finished.
