The present invention relates to a novel nonlinear optical crystal: trithylene diamine pentaborate (TEDABO in short), which belongs to the optical field and artificial crystal material field. The molecular formula is as follows: [C6H13N2][B5O6(OH)4]. The nonlinear optical crystal belongs to monoclinic system and has a space group of Cc, and the unit cell parameter is as follows: a=10.205(2), b=14.143(3), c=11.003(2), alpha=gamma=90.000, beta=113.97(3), V=1451.1(5)<3>. The nonlinear optical crystal is achroic and transparent, and can be dissolved in water. The analytical pure H3BO3 and C6H12N2are taken as raw materials and is precisely weighted according a molar ratio of 5:1. The mixture is placed into an oxygen bomb after mixing in room temperature, mixing uniformly to become a jelly. The mixture is heated to 180 DEG C and is crystallized, and block TEDABO crystal can be obtained. The preparing method of the invention is simple. The prepared material has excellent nonlinear optical capability. The crystal can be applied in the nonlinear optical field and enriches the research content of nonlinear optical material.
