Abstract

This invention relates to a system for facilitating redemption of certain types of voucher codes against user accounts with service providers. In the system, a computerized clearing house issues clearing house voucher codes for redemption against user accounts with certain service providers. Each code is associated with a value of credit to be provided on such a user account by the associated service provider. The system provides for a person who has acquired such a code to communicate to the clearing house a demand for redemption of the code, the demand including the code and identifying a particular one of the service providers and a user account with that provider. Upon receiving such a demand, the clearing house verifies the code and, upon successful verification, instructs the identified service provider to credit the identified user account with the value of credit associated with the code.
