Abstract

The gripper has two clamping jaws (19,21) with the gripping surface for clamping a pile yarn (9). A hinge (32) connects both the clamping jaws with one another in a rotatable manner and determines a rotation axis (33). One clamping jaw has an axial bearing surface (36) for forming the hinge, where a spacer has an attachment surface (39). A holding element (46) rests on the attachment surface and comprises a plate-shaped or disk-shaped head (48). An axial bearing surface (49) is held by the spacer at a distance from the axial bearing surface of the clamping jaw.

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a yarn gripper for an Axminster loom. Background technique [0002] Axminster looms are known for making carpets and other pile fabrics. The main functions of this loom are known from the reference "Carpet Manufacture" (Geoffrey H. Crawshaw, WRONZ Developments, Private Bag 4749, Christchurch, New Zealand). The loom operates with three sets of warp threads associated with the corresponding heald frames. Grippers located on the rods are used to deliver pre-cut pile yarns between the warp threads, where they are anchored by means of weft threads.
