Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a system for identifying an administrative domain in a configuration management database. The method comprises the following steps: abstracting one or a plurality of corresponding applied defined administrative domains based on a public data model in the configuration management database so as to obtain the types of the public data model and the topology of the relationship among the types; searching a matched administrative domain in the configuration management database by utilizing the topology; and providing the matched administrative domain to the user. The method and the system can help a common user identify the administrative domain more accurately and effectively, thereby saving the labor cost and improving the administrative efficiency. In addition, the topology which can be taken as a standard is provided by abstracting, thereby the service level can be consistent, and the misadministration risk can be lowered. Furthermore, more usable information can be provided to the user through further performing similarity evaluation.
