Problems solved by technology

[0009] Therefore, the present invention is conceived to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a terminal device capable of avoiding the recording of contents unnecessary to the viewer, and prohibiting descrambling or descrambling during recording of descrambled video. In the case of interference, it is possible to identify problems in the content of the recorded program without the viewer viewing the details of the recorded program

[0071] Embodiments of the cable TV system of the present invention are described with reference to the drawings. figure 2 It is a block diagram showing the relationship of each device constituting the wired system. The wired system includes a headend 101 and three terminal devices, namely terminal device A111, terminal device B112 and terminal device C113. In this embodiment, three terminal devices are connected to one headend. However, the invention can be implemented with any number of terminal devices connected to the headend.

[0072] The front end 101 transmits broadcast signals such as video, audio, and data to a plurality of terminal devices, and receives data transmitted from each terminal device. To achieve this, the frequency band is divided for data transmission between the front end 101 and the terminal device A111, the terminal device B112 and the terminal device C113. image 3 is a table showing examples of divided frequency bands. There are roughly two freq...

[0169] In the first embodiment, in the case where a situation in which descrambling cannot be performed occurs during recording, recording is terminated. However, when the situation in which descrambling cannot be performed lasts only for a short period of time and scrambling becomes possible again immediately, the period of time of the program recorded in the scrambled state is also short. Therefore, it may be more advantageous for the user to continue recording the program.

[0170] Thus, in this embodiment, recording is continued even when a situation in which descrambling cannot be performed occurs during recording. However, in the case of writing the program recorded in the auxiliary storage unit 510 into the medium inserted into the medium writing unit 516, whether to perform writing is confirmed by the user.

[0186] In the second embodiment described above, when problematic recording data is written on the recording medium, the user is notified of problem information. In this embodiment, when problematic recorded data is reproduced, the user is notified of problem information. In this example, a terminal device (digital broadcast recording device) includes a reproducing unit (not shown in the figure) that reproduces a recording subject program stored in an auxiliary storage unit.

Abstract

The present invention provides a digital broadcast recording apparatus which prevents an unnecessary recording in a situation where it is not possible to descramble a program or it is prohibited to record a scrambled program. The digital broadcast recording apparatus includes a descrambler (515) that detects a channel where a descrambling-not-possible situation occurs. The apparatus also includesa service manager (1204) which terminates the recording and writes, into a management table, that a descrambling-not-possible situation has occurred during recording, when there is recording data showing that recording is being executed on the channel which is detected as having the descrambling-not-possible situation.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the invention patent application with the application number 200580041263.6 and the invention title "Digital Broadcasting Recording Equipment" submitted on May 31, 2007. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to a digital broadcast recording device that receives scrambled digital broadcasts, and more particularly to a digital broadcast recording device that performs a recording process such as program timing recording, or to a digital broadcast recording device with a built-in reproduction function (also referred to as a digital broadcast recording reproduction device). Background technique [0003] In digital broadcasting, paid programs are scrambled and distributed. The distributed program can only be descrambled and viewed on the terminal of the user who has paid the viewing fee. [0004] The descrambling function stops working under certain conditions. For example, when the contract period with the ...
