Abstract

Method of laying down at least one elastic element in a process for producing tyres for vehicles, said method comprising the following steps: determining a first parameter representative of a laying speed at which at least one elastic element is laid down around a tyre forming drum; determining a second parameter representative of a percent elongation to be applied to said elastic element; adjusting, as a function of said first and second parameters, a rotation speed of a control roller positioned upstream of said forming drum and having a radially external surface at least partly in engagement with said elastic element for controlling the laying profile of said at least one elastic element.
