Problems solved by technology

However, when operating at the current limit of the motor, the refrigerant liquid system cannot physically work harder to pull down the LCHLT
Since the refrigerant liquid system cannot work more powerfully, the LCHLT cannot be pulled down faster and the pulldown rate is reduced
When the capacity controller closes the pre-rotation vane when the motor is at or close to its corresponding current limit, the closure of the pre-rotation vane can cause the pull-down time to be prolonged

Embodiment Construction

[0013] figure 1 An exemplary environment is shown for the refrigeration liquid system 10 in a building 12 for a typical commercial setting. System 10 may include a vapor compression system incorporated into rooftop unit 14 that may supply a refrigerated liquid that may be used to cool building 12 . System 10 may also include a boiler 16 that supplies heated liquid that may be used to heat building 12 , and an air distribution system that circulates air within building 12 . The air distribution system may include an air return duct 18 , an air supply duct 20 and an air handler 22 . Air manager 22 may include a heat exchanger connected to boiler 16 and rooftop unit 14 by conduit 24 . Depending on the mode of operation of system 10 , the heat exchanger in air manager 22 may receive heated liquid from boiler 16 or cooled liquid from rooftop unit 14 . System 10 is shown with separate air managers on each floor of building 12, but it should be appreciated that these components ma...

Abstract

A pull-down control process for a refrigerator system is provided. The pull-down control process may skip a capacity control process for the chiller system to pull down the chilled liquid temperature faster than the capacity control process. This pull-down control process maintains the pre-rotation vanes in the fully open position to pull down the exiting refrigerant liquid temperature to a predetermined set point as quickly as possible.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority and benefit to U.S. Provisional Application No. 60 / 950,205, filed July 17, 2007, entitled "Pull-down control for chiller systems," which The provisional application is incorporated into this application by reference. technical field [0003] The present application relates generally to control systems for refrigeration liquid systems. More specifically, the present application relates to a control process for pulling down the leaving chilled liquid temperature of a chilled liquid system to a predetermined set point. Background technique [0004] In a refrigerated liquid system, a refrigerated liquid, such as water, is circulated through a building to remove heat from the building. The liquid in a refrigerated liquid system is cooled in an evaporator (or refrigerator) using a heat exchanger, where the liquid is cooled by a refrigerant that absorbs heat from the liquid. Refrigerated li...
