Abstract

The invention discloses a method for correcting tree ring width measuring errors. Two up-and-down measuring lines are set for the scanned ring image; two up-and-down coordinates of interaction points of each tree ring and the measuring lines are measured, intermediate coordinates are obtained by calculating average values, and the difference of horizontal coordinates between adjacent intermediate coordinates is the inclined tree ring width to be corrected. The inclination angles of ring boundaries, namely the osculation angles can be calculated according to horizontal and vertical coordinate difference between two up-and-down end points. The average value of the inclination angles of inner and outer boundaries of each ring is used as the inclination angle of the ring. The inclined ring is corrected according to the trigonometric function principle. Through the method, the inclination correction is performed on all ring widths. The method solves the problems of difficult judgment of inclined rings and complicated manual correction, saves a large amount of time for researchers, and improves the ring width measuring accuracy.
