The method adopts a system comprising a patent database, a topic establishing module, a patent categorizing module, a technology route generating module and a result output module, displays the evolution conditions of a patent technology route of the patent applicant in an appointed region through a matrix chart, wherein the transversal axis of the matrix is used as a patent time parameter, the longitudinal axis is used as a patent applicant and the crossed point is used as the corresponding patent technology category of the patent applicant under the patent time parameter. The analysis method of the invention enables an enterprise to acquire the technology route evolution conditions of an interested applicant in an appointed region and grasp the patent technology routes of competitors in different markets.
