Abstract

The stereo element images are divided into key images and non-key images; a stereo element image array is divided into a two-dimensional image group array by taking the key images as reference; the key images are coded by image intra prediction; and the non-key images are coded in different prediction modes selected according to the positions of the non-key images in corresponding image groups. Compared with the conventional single-view point video predictive coding structure, the multi-grade hybrid predictive coding structure of the stereo element images has the advantages that: the spatial position of each stereo element image is not changed, and most of the stereo element images are provided with more reference images for predictive coding at the same time, so that the coding efficiency is improved.
