Embodiment Construction

[0031] The new molecular materials synthesized and the methods used to obtain them are described below.

[0032]

[0033] All compounds used in the synthesis of products 1-6 were used without any additional purification. Compound Ag 3 [Cr(C 2 o 4 ) 3 ] and Tl 3 [Fe(C 2 o 4 ) 3 ] were prepared by metathesis of the previously described compounds.

[0034] 1.E-MnMnCr.Ag 3 [Cr(C 2 o 4 ) 3 ] and MnCl 2 4H 2 O in methanol was prepared in a stoichiometric ratio of 1:1.5. This was kept under constant stirring for about 15 minutes. The white AgCl(s) formed in the previous step was filtered and the resulting purple solution was transferred to a beaker. To a solution of these two complexes (and thus their respective metals) dissolved in methanol, a controlled and constant addition of solid 18-crown-6(C 12 h 24 o 6 ). Once the addition was complete, the crude reaction product was stirred mechanically. When crown ethers are added, all compounds assemble in solution,...

Abstract

The invention relates to homo and heterometallic soluble coordination polymers containing an oxalate ligand and to a method for obtaining spinels from same. The homo and heterometallic coordination polymers, which contain at least one oxalate ligand, are characterised in that they also contain at least one organic molecule capable of stabilising expanded metal complex structures through the formation of supramolecular interactions such that the polymer is substantially soluble in water and insoluble in organic solvents. Said polymers, when in the solid state, can generate spinel-type metal oxides or other mixed oxides following a thermal oxidation treatment including steps comprising: the preparation of an alcoholic solution of a metal complex containing at least one oxalate ligand and a metal salt, the precipitation of the metal complex and the metal salt with a cryptand-type molecule through the formation of a coordination polymer that is soluble in water and insoluble in organic solvents, the separation of the precipitate obtained in the previous step, and the heating of same in an oxidant atmosphere to a temperature of at least 350 DEG C until the spinel or mixed oxide has formed.

Description

1. Field of invention [0001] The present invention relates to homo-orheterometallic coordination polymers (homo-orheterometallic coordination polymers) based on oxalate ligands, and processes for obtaining spinel-type metal oxides from them, said coordination polymers being in the solid state The spinel-type metal oxides are allowed to form after heat treatment. [0002] 2. Purpose of the invention [0003] The present invention discloses new magnetic homo- or heterometallic polymers based on oxalate ligands with high water solubility, and the synthesis of high-purity spinel-type metal oxides from them and other hybrids with structures different from spinel-type oxide method. This solubility leads to the thermal oxidation of matching molecular precursors to obtain the molecular formula (M II ,M III ) 3 o 4 A new method for spinel-structured metal oxides that exhibit magnetic ordering at elevated room temperature in some cases. The water solubility of the precursors prov...
