Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for determining fault elimination based on operation and maintenance (OAM), solving the problems that the number of sessions is limited, and the storage space is increased in determining the fault elimination by adopting a hardware timer. The method comprises the following steps: setting the identification information of the fault corresponding to the session when a link is determined to be in fault through detecting the OAM session; setting the identification information of the scanning number according to the set identification information; and determining whether the fault is eliminated according to the scanned identification information corresponding to the fault and the identification information corresponding to the scanning number at the next session. By the embodiment of the invention, whether the fault is eliminated or not is determined through detecting the identification information corresponding to the fault and the identification information corresponding to the scanning number, thus the storage space occupied by the index table item of the hardware timer is decreased, the corresponding number of timers need not to be arranged aiming at each OAM session, and the number of the OAM sessions can be arbitrarily adjusted, thereby improving the flexibility of the system.
