Abstract

The invention discloses a liquid crystal lens and a driving method thereof. The liquid crystal lens comprises an upper substrate and a lower substrate which are arranged at interval, a liquid crystal layer located between the upper substrate and the lower substrate, deflecting electrodes located at one side of the upper substrate adjacent to the liquid crystal layer, a common electrode located at one side of the lower substrate adjacent to the liquid crystal layer, and a plurality of spacers which divide the liquid crystal layer into a plurality of liquid crystal chambers along a direction parallel to the upper substrate and the lower substrate; and by controlling the dynamic periodic change of voltage applied to the corresponding deflecting electrode on each liquid crystal chamber, the liquid crystal layer alternatively forms a left half liquid crystal lens and a right half liquid crystal lens within a period. The invention also provides a stereo display device with application of the liquid crystal lenses. In such a way, the stereo display device provided in the invention realizes excellent three-dimensional display effect.
