A composite rubber metal spring combined by a rubber hourglass and overlapping spring rubber serves as a rail transportation second-system auxiliary damping spring to perform auxiliary damping on a rail transportation second-system; and the rubber hourglass and overlapping spring rubber are integrally vulcanized on two sides of an overlapping spring metal clapboard and are combined and connected into an elastic body through a connecting strip, wherein the rubber hourglass is positioned on the overlapping spring rubber; and a smaller end of the hourglass rubber is vulcanized with an upper metal plate, and a larger end of the hourglass rubber is vulcanized with the overlapping spring rubber through the overlapping spring metal clapboard. An hourglass spring is vulcanized with a flat spring, and the hourglass spring has the characteristic of low vertical rigidity and alsohas high horizontal displacement capacity with the overlapping spring; therefore, a mounting space can be made into the size the same as that of the overlapping spring.
