Embodiment Construction

[0036] Hereinafter, the inner needle widening method of the present invention using a two-needle-bed flat knitting machine capable of laterally shifting at least one of the front and rear needle beds and capable of transferring stitches between the front and rear needle beds will be described based on the drawings. Of course, the flat knitting machine used may also be a four-needle bed flat knitting machine.

[0037] figure 1 , figure 2 It is a knitting process diagram showing the knitting steps of inner widening needles in this embodiment, FB in the figure indicates the front needle bed, BB indicates the rear needle bed, a to t indicate the positions of the knitting needles, and ● indicates the newly knitted needle bed in each knitting process. ○ indicates the old loop hooked on the knitting needle, ▼ indicates the yarn feeder. Here, for the convenience of explanation, in figure 1 In the figure, the number of knitting needles is smaller than the actual number.

Abstract

Provided is a method of increasing the number of internal stitches using a weft knitting machine, the method being able to increase the number of internal stitches without creating holes in the portions at which the additional stitches are formed and with a difference in external appearance between the front side and the rear side of the knitted fabric reduced. Also provided is a knitted fabric produced using the method. The method sets a start point stitch (1) and an end point stitch (2) and performs the following steps [1-3]: [1] a preparation step for forming stitches (4, 6) which follow both the start point stitch (1) and the end point stitch (2) and also forming hooked stitches (3, 5) on knitting needles located at positions substantially facing knitting needles with which the start point stitch (1) and the end point stitch (2) are engaged, [2] an additional-stitch forming step for forming new stitches (7, 9)(additional stitches) at the hooked stitches (3, 5), and [3] an additional-stitch arranging step for distributing the additional stitches (7, 9) which are formed by the additional-stitch forming step and the stitches (4, 6 (10, 11)) which are formed by the preparation step, the stitches (7, 9)(4, 6 (10, 11)); being distributed by racking of a needle bed and by stitch transfer so that the positions of the stitches (7, 9)(4, 6 (10, 11)) do not overlap with each other inthe longitudinal direction of the needle bed.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an inner widening method for forming widening stitches on the inside of ends in the knitting width direction of the knitted fabric when knitting a knitted fabric using a flat knitting machine, and to a knitted fabric knitted by the method. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, in the process of knitting a knitted fabric using a flat knitting machine, widening stitches are sometimes formed in order to knit the knitted fabric into a desired shape. As a method of forming such widening stitches, there is known an inner widening method in which a plurality of stitches at ends in the knitting width direction are moved to the outside in the knitting width direction to generate empty needles in the knitting region of the knitted fabric. Hanging loops are formed on the empty needles to increase the knitting width. [0003] However, in this inner widening method, a widening stitch consisting of a pick-up stitch is formed...
