Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a system for flexibly configuring a tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) transmitter. The method comprises the following steps of: 1, storing the configuration data of the TPMS emitter in a storage; 2, sending a configuration data updating command to a low frequency (LF) receiving circuit of the TPMS transmitter by an LF transmission circuit of the LF transmitter; 3, sending an acknowledgement character (AKC) acknowledgement signal to an ultra high frequency (UHF) receiver of the LF transmitter by a UHF transmitter of the TPMS transmitter to ensure the validity of the configuration data updating command; and 4, updating the configuration data in the storage by the TPMS transmitter according to the received configuration data. The invention also provides the system for flexibly configuring the TPMS transmitter. The method and the system for flexibly configuring the TPMS transmitter do not additionally increase hardware cost, and the aim of updating the configuration data of the TPMS transmitter is fulfilled through non-electrical connection and in a wireless mode; and by the method and the system, the TPMS transmitter can be flexibly configured so as to adapt to the actual conditions of different models and tires, and different running strategies are set and the customizing requirements of a client are met.
