Abstract

A method and apparatus for deriving a representation of an image by processing signals corresponding to the image is described. The method includes deriving a two-dimensional function (T(d, theta)), such as a Trace transform of the image, and decomposing, for instance by sub-sampling, the two-dimensional function (T(d, theta)) in at least one of its two dimensions, to obtain a reduced resolution Trace transform.
