Abstract

Embodiments in the invention disclose a forwarding method, equipment and system for a data frame of VPLS. The forwarding method comprises the following steps receiving a static media access control (MAC) address installation message which contains an MAC address corresponding to a multicast source port of the VPLS; parsing the static MAC address installation message to obtain the MAC address; installing the MAC address to a static forwarding table; forwarding the data frame according to the static forwarding table when a leaf client receives the data frame. Without modification to a forwarding plane, each leaf provider edge (PE) can support VPLS multicast service, which enables cost for equipment to be reduced, is favorable for seamless upgrade of a VPLS network, and enables complexity of network upgrade deployment to be reduced.
