Embodiment Construction

[0040] Figure 17 Shown is a block diagram of a protective switch 11 with a disconnecting contact for predeterminable disconnection of the network, wherein the disconnecting contact can be actuated by at least one triggering unit 10, wherein the protective switch has a function for detecting at least A detector 1 for an aperiodic, substantially jump-like change in the amplitude of an electrical parameter, and a trigger unit 10 is operatively connected to the detector 1 .

[0041] As a result, the risk of fire caused by faults in the grid can be reduced. In this way, so-called serial and / or parallel faults 18 , 19 which may lead to arcing can be detected in the grid and the grid involved can be shut down. As a result, fires which could be caused by electric arcs can be reliably prevented. In this way, living things and devices can also be protected against the risk of fire from or through the electrical current.

Abstract

In order to reduce the risk of fire due to faults in electrical networks, it is proposed in a circuit breaker (11), comprising break contacts for the predetermined shut-off of an electrical network, wherein the break contacts can be actuated by at least one trigger unit (10), that the circuit breaker comprises a detector (1) for detecting aperiodic, substantially sudden changes in the amplitude of at least one electric parameter within the electrical network, and that the trigger unit (10) is operatively connected to the detector (1).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a protective switch according to the preamble of claim 1 . Background technique [0002] A protective switch is known which disconnects the network, sub-grid or power line by automatically opening a disconnecting contact when an increased current occurs in the power system or the power line. Also known are other protective switches which, in the event of a fault current, disconnect the grid, sub-grid or electrical conductors by automatically opening the disconnecting contacts. [0003] The disadvantage of this known protective switch is that, in addition to the fault sources already described, other fault sources can occur in the grid or in the electrical conductors, which can be harmful to devices or living things, especially through fire potential hazards, and these fault sources are not reliably detected by the above-mentioned commonly used protective switches, because neither excessive current nor fault current are necessa...
