Abstract

The embodiments of the present invention provide a method and base station for obtaining combining gain to improve data demodulation performance. The method includes the following steps: a main baseband processing chip receives uplink data and data sent from at least one assistant baseband processing chip, wherein the data sent from the at least one assistant baseband processing chip is sent to the main baseband processing chip after the at least one assistant baseband processing chip performs maximum ratio combining to the uplink data received by the at least one assistant baseband processing chip, and the uplink data is simultaneously sent from a user device to the main baseband processing chip and to the assistant baseband processing chip; the main baseband processing chip performs maximum ratio combining to the data received by the main baseband processing chip. Compared to the selective combining during the soft handover, the method provided by the embodiments of the present invention can obtain better gain and improve data demodulation performance.
