Abstract

Disclosed are a gesture-based user interface system and a method for same. The user interface system comprises: a coordinate extraction unit which extracts a start point and an end point from coordinate data obtained by an input event, and at least one peak between the start point and the end point; and a gesture recognition unit which recognizes at least one gesture from the shape of the line connecting the start point and the end point through the peak.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present invention relate to a gesture-based user interface system and method for improving convenience and variety of operations. Background technique [0002] The original user interface was designed as a text-based interface to perform the interaction with the computer. This enables ordinary users to input commands one by one using the keyboard, however, this is a very difficult operation for users who do not understand this command system. [0003] Thereafter, due to the introduction of an input mechanism such as a mouse, the user interface developed into an icon-based menu. This has led to an increase in the use of computers and has made computers easily accessible to beginners who are using computers for the first time. However, as the computer environment develops, various devices and technologies are developed, and as user's needs become complicated, new interface technologies are required. [0004] Human-computer interface...
