The method comprises the steps of : (1) acquiring and obtaining data; (2) selecting a constant air density as a reference value according to the historical air density data of a wind farm; (3) conducting data treatment to calculate a plurality of effective wind speed and average wind power density in the smallest time interval; (4) conducting data treatment to convert the effective wind speed in the smallest time interval to the effective wind speed in an arbitrary larger time interval; and (5) conducting data treatment to evaluate the wind energy in the arbitrary larger time interval. The wind energy evaluation method based on the effective wind speed provided by the invention is applicable to wind energy evaluation of the wind farm with varying air density, and can not only accurately evaluate wind energy of the wind farm but obviate the influences of time segment length on the wind energy evaluation result.
