Embodiment Construction

[0031] refer to figure 1 , a clogging detection device D can be seen, which detects clogging of a mechanical fluid meter 1 , more particularly a water meter, mounted on a pipe 2 . The meter 1 comprises an upstream connection 1a and a downstream connection 1b according to figure 1 , the fluid flows in the direction of arrow F from left to right.

[0032] The device D comprises measuring means M which measure the temperature difference between the temperature of the fluid in the vicinity of the meter 1 and the temperature of the environment in which the meter is located. The measuring means M comprise a temperature sensor 3 of the temperature of the fluid in the vicinity of the gauge 1 . Preferably, the sensor 3 is located immediately downstream or upstream of the meter 1, for example on the connection 1b, or the sensor 3 is located in the body of the meter itself. A further temperature sensor 4 is provided for acquiring the temperature of the environment in the vicinity of t...

Abstract

The invention relates to a mechanical fluid meter, for liquid or gas, comprising an electronic device (E) that has means for metering, and generally also displaying, consumption, said fluid meter including: at least one fluid temperature sensor (3) near the meter and at least one ambient temperature sensor (4) where the meter is installed; a connection means between the temperature sensors (3, 4) and the electronic device (E); and analysis means (5) for establishing the temperature difference ([delta]theta) between the fluid temperature and the ambient temperature and for taking into account the fluid flow rate value supplied by the meter, said analysis means being programmed so as to display and/or transmit information indicating a meter blockage when the temperature difference (??) is higher than a predetermined limit and the flow rate value supplied by the meter is zero.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a device for detecting clogging of a mechanical meter of a liquid, in particular a water meter. [0002] The invention also relates to a mechanical meter for liquid fluids, in particular a water meter, with clogging detection. Background technique [0003] Mechanical water meters, usually based on turbines or rotary pistons, currently offer high metering accuracy at reasonable cost. But what happens during the life of the meter is that the moving parts get clogged with the passage of impurities or foreign objects (grit, gasket fragments, etc.) in the dispensed fluid. For operators of the distribution network, this results in a significant loss of operating income, as customers continue to consume water without meters recording any usage. [0004] In the prior art, it was difficult to distinguish between a blocked meter and a non-existent user - in both cases the meter did not record any water consumption, even when the meter ...
