The invention discloses a monitor positioning system and a method based on ZigBee distributed storage. The system comprises reference nodes, location nodes and an intelligent network terminal which communicate freely through a ZigBee wireless network, wherein the reference nodes are mounted at positions of a building respectively and used for storing map fragments of an area and sending radio waves; and when obtained authorized location nodes and the intelligent network terminal enter a network range, the obtained authorized location nodes and the intelligent network terminal can join the network and communicate with other nodes, the reference nodes can send the stored map fragments to the location nodes or the intelligent network terminal, and accordingly, the location nodes or the intelligent network terminal can obtain a local or full map of the building. According to the monitor positioning system and the method based on ZigBee distributed storage, ZeeBee and a distributed storage technology are combined, an ordinary intelligent building monitoring function is achieved, the ZigBee reference nodes are used as a distributed storage device to preserve the map fragments of the area, the reference nodes achieve redundant backup, and the safety and the robustness of the system are improved.
