Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for updating a public warning system (PWS) secret key. The method comprises the following steps of receiving an updated PWS secret key by user equipment (UE) when preset conditions are met, wherein the updated PWS secret key is issued from network side equipment through a non-access stratum down message; updating a current PWS secret key by the UE by adopting the received PWS secret key.
