Abstract

The word completion system is based on partial but exact templates that require a limited number of matches. A key component is a closed template consisting of hints representing one or more characters, constrained by the exact number of characters in the desired word. It can be edited with high precision to regenerate new result sets in real time to reflect changes. The exact number of characters in the template can be indicated by a discrete signal using a designated gesture or typing a number. The system is interactive in nature, requiring no command line input or scripting language. The delimiter or specified signal is used to select entries from the result set to complete the target word. The proposed method is inherently deterministic and scalable to different writing systems, and portable to various hardware platforms.
