Abstract

The invention relates to a usage of potassium ions in promoting the metamorphosis of mytilus coruscus larvae and shortening the seed settlement time of the mytilus coruscus larvae and further relates to a usage of a potassium ion antagonist in inhibiting the metamorphosis of the mytilus coruscus larvae and a method for promoting or inhibiting the metamorphosis of the mytilus coruscus larvae. The usage and the method have the advantages that evidences prove that by the potassium ions, the metamorphosis rate of the mytilus coruscus larvae can be improved, and the seed settlement time of the mytilus coruscus larvae can be shortened, so that the potassium ions can be used for increasing the production success rate of mytilus coruscus seeds and shortening the production period; and meanwhile, cheap and nontoxic sylvite is suitable for large-scale seed production. The evidences also prove that the potassium ion antagonist can inhibit the metamorphosis of the mytilus coruscus larvae, and a novel way is provided to control marine contamination. The conclusion of the study is helpful in stating the settlement and metamorphosis mechanism of mytilus coruscus.
